Journeys to the end of the world, fantastic creatures and epic battles between good and evil — what more could any reader ask for in one book? That book was The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, written in 1949 by C S Lewis. But Lewis did not stop there. Six more books followed and together they became known as The Chronicles of Narnia.

The Magician’s Nephew is one of my top choices in C S Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia. I read it unexpectedly around 10 years prior when I purchased a gathered volume of the entirety of the books. Up to that point I’d just perused The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

I love the storyline in The Magician’s Nephew. C S Lewis realized how to think of something other than what’s expected.

I love the little connections between The Magician’s Nephew and the other Narnia books, particularly The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

The underhanded Queen that Digory wakes coincidentally is The White Witch. Digory is the old teacher. We discover the light post winds up in the center of the forested areas. The supernatural closet is produced using the wood of a tree that grew when Digory planted an apple from an otherworldly tree in Narnia in the nursery of his home. Aslan shows up. Narnia is conceived.

I love Lewis’ way of writing in The Magician’s Nephew. He utilizes exceptionally straightforward language which I generally discover more viable than the exaggerated colorful gibberish that is ‘well known’ these days. Why take 500 words to state what can be said in 50 or less?

The language Lewis utilizes in The Magician’s Nephew and the manner in which the account is organized helps me to remember a caring old granddad roosting his darling granddaughter on his knee, one cold and winter night to disclose to her an enchanted story.

The Magician’s Nephew is short by contemporary novel principles. The length may qualify it as to a greater extent a novella. Lewis packs such a great amount into quite a meager measure of pages. I’m dazzled by what amount occurs in The Magician’s Nephew. Another essayist would have spread this out across 300 pages or more.

Lewis composes The Magician’s Nephew in a style that urges the peruser to accept the story is valid by straightforwardly tending to the peruser:

It is a significant story since it shows how all the comings and goings between our own reality and the universe of Narnia started… .

In those days Mr Sherlock Holmes was all the while living in Baker Street and the Bastables were searching for treasure in the Lewisham Road…
